I began cycling in the spring of 2007 following a poor physical report that made my doctor give me the “you gotta do something about these numbers” speech. Shortly after taking up the sport a friend who had also begun riding told me about Chris Luers at Restoration Bicycle. Since that time Chris has been a major part of my success in losing weight, getting my poor doctor’s report numbers under control, and just really experiencing the joy of riding several times each week. Without Chris’ help I really don’t think cycling would be the joy-filled part of my life that it is today.
Chris provides such a personal and relational touch to his work that it’s really just beyond description. In addition to being a fantastic bike mechanic and incredibly knowledgeable, he has gone above and beyond for me over and over again. Chris willingly offered his help when I was seeking to purchase a quality used road bike, and without his input I would have never bought the C-dale that I now have and love dearly. Chris regularly answers my questions via email or phone and constantly tries to give me options that will help me have my needs met for the absolute minimum amount of money spent.
It is truly a joy to recommend Chris and Restoration Bicycle, to friends who are looking to get into biking at some level. He is incredibly easy to talk to, never makes me feel like my lack of technical understanding is something to be ashamed of, and gives me total confidence that the choices I’m making for repairs or purchases are the best for me. Without a doubt my enjoyment of riding is directly a result of having met Chris and having developed such an ongoing dialog and working relationship with him.

I highly recommend Restoration Bicycle. Chris has a knack for making things work, and work well. He has a passion for bikes and bicycling that is evident when you talk to him. I think the thing I like best about Chris is that he is so focused on figuring out what works for ME as an individual. He listens. He's creative. He's an outstanding mechanic. A basket to hold a watermelon from the farmers market? A side mirror that can easily be removed? A bike light despite a basket on the front of the bike? A complete overhaul? All absolutely no problem. If you want your bike to work well for you, take my advice and talk to Chris at Restoration Bicycle.

You can't do better than Chris. His work is solid and he is affordable and knowledgable. His workshops are awesome for cyclists of all levels. I commute 100% by bicycle and I couldn't get by without him.

Chris is among the most bicycle-knowledgable people I've ever met, and also among the most down-to-earth and approachable. The "Chris Experience" is soooo refreshing if you've been burned by the big-bad bike shops. He does business the right way -- taking the time, answering questions, focusing on his customers -- and that is why his following is so loyal. He is a rare find, indeed. And with his commuter focus (also rare) you can be sure that you will be on the road safely. TAKE ONE OF HIS WORKSHOPS IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE!!
